So this piece is done, I wish I had a better camera. Sorry. My little brother is going to come shoot pictures of all my work so I can be a little bit more legit, until then I must resort to my iPhone. I am building a frame for this canvas. Should be complete soon.

larger larger larger.

I recently read an article about one of my favorite artist, Audrey Kawasaki, she paints a lot on wood. Really a talented painter. She said something that really got me thinking. She talked about how she normally paints on wood but when she paints on canvas she feels so much freer, able to make a mistake. Not that I make mistakes but I thought I would give it a shot being as i haven't painted loosely in a while. It sort of refreshing.

Obviously this piece isn't finished yet. But I am excited to work on it.

42" x 48" Acrylic on canvas.

I miss San Diego.

At just 4 x 4 inches this could be my smallest painting... ever. I dream of working larger but my work seems to be getting smaller and smaller. I sent this to a friend in San Diego. I have been obsessing over the day of the dead skulls and the culture in that wonderful city a lot lately. Hoping to go back soon.

Hanging by a thread.

This is a 2 panel piece that is inspired by my time traveling with 3 amazing people in northern California. There was a "sketch" early on in this blog. Here is the final hard version of it.

You probably dont care yet.

So I promised that I was putting my work into 3-D... I really want to, I do. Last night was the final draw of the first attempt. Wire frame characters covered in screen and clay and then fired... Sounded promising. After numerous small defeats I tried one final time last night. Failure. I have nothing more than a weak wire frame covered in clay...

Off to the hardware store. We are going to do this.

works from the road.

So here is the back story. These are all cards I have made on the road for people that I love. I was armed with a couple micron pens, a travel water color kit, and some handmade paper from my favorite store in Indy, Dolphin Paper. In my mind these are rough drafts for larger projects that I will tackle soon. Sorry they are blurry and what not, stupid iPhone.
